Snorkeling at Maho Bay

September 3, 2011

We were lucky enough this week to have a lovely snorkel at Maho Bay.  Generally quiet and calm, Maho Bay is the perfect place to get comfortable with snorkeling, while also providing a wealth of sea-life to entertain both novice and veteran snorkelers.  Rock and reef formations lie on either end of the beach, while the middle of the bay boasts vast sea grass beds, a favorite haven for sea turtles, rays, conch and starfish.

Recent additions by the National Park Service include handicap parking, accessible pavilions available by reservation through the NPS for large gatherings, and accessible bathrooms.
